The Art of Staging and Re-Designing.
Home Staging in known for trying to appeal to the aesthetic sensibilities, functional needs, preferences and tastes of the "target buyer". This is the definition of universal appeal. In essence, it means to alter the property to stop representing the stylistic tastes of the owner and allow it to represent the want list of likely potential buyers.
Home Staging helps to distinguish a property from its competition using beautiful designs that are memorable. It's all about optimizng any home to appeal to the buyer. When a buyer sees a staged home they will certainly NOT say..."this home has potential"...instead they will say..."this home is perfect!"
This gorgeous property has lots of open spaces, and affords the option of adding many stunning touches. A nearby building inspired the palette, while the grid-like patterns of furniture placement, fabrics and wallcoverings reflect the window wall and streetscape below.
This space was dressed up with a sleek, sophisticated decor that is ready to impress. The owners of this space sought to retain the architecture but soften its formality. Stylish furnishings and the innovative use of form and color meet the challenge.
This gorgeous property has lots of open spaces, and allowed for many stunning touches. Letting the windows be the focal point and keeping the living area clean and modern, allowed the focus to be on the openness of the space.
Let me introduce myself...
I'm Heather Derr and I created Derr Design Group in 1988 as a commercial set designer for major catalog retailers. Since then, I've obtained my real estate license and began a series of home renovations using my design skills in both the physical renovations and interior re-decorating and staging to prepare the renovated properties for sale. I've also worked for major home builders, selling and staging model homes. I use my creative and innovative interior decorating skills to offer excellence and affordability in re-designing your space whether large or small.
I have been styling, re-desiging and staging homes for 20+ years and I can comment on my own personal experiences with the real estate market. Statistically, staged homes sell up to 1.5 times faster than unstaged home and can sell for up to 12% more.
The idea of Re-Purposing and Re-Designing is 3 fold:
1. De-Clutter the home.
2. De-Personalize the home.
3. Neutralize the Decor.
I would love to assist everyone in successfully selling their homes using my techniques. I truly believe in the necessity and effectiveness of Home Staging and Re-Design.
